It's more "Meh...Gracias" than "Muchas Gracias". I got nachos tonight in honor of Nacho Day and they actually served me brown guacamole, eww. Hi, have u ever met an avocado?? This is basic. It also makes me question the freshness (or potentially lack thereof) of the other food.
Before I get mired in the guacamole w/ a tan tho I'll get to the rest: cheese quesadillas are huge and super cheesy, and they soak up the flavor of the meats and onions from the grill. This may not be ideal if ur veggie, but I like that extra, albeit accidental, flavor. Unfortunately, they are super greasy (I guess that's fair w/ so much cheese) and they don't usually cut them up so you'll have to negotiate w/ a calzone-sized half moon using your bear hands (FR, if you had bear hands it would be easier to shred this sucker).
Too much onion in a lot of stuff, there's really nothing "pico" about it in the pico de gallo.
I've found the vegan burrito, beef taquitos, crunchy tacos, tostadas, breakfast burrito, and churros to all be fine.
Mexi fries are the blandest fries around, if ur into that. Guacamole is the same, it seems to be avocado only w/ a few onion pieces...so if you like bland or brown guac, spin the wheel and see what you get!
Chimichangas and taco salad are prob their best items, and their portions are generous.
Their service is pretty meh, they sometimes take extremely long for a drive thru and the employees seem checked out.
You'd be right to ask me why I've returned so many times when it's like this, well aren't you nosy!!
I usually frequent Del Taco but their quesadillas are a quesadon't and their nachos don't even look worth trying, so if I really want those things I'll come through here. Sigh...I wish Mexicali Express would take over, they do everything well.
Basically everything here has a good and bad side so it's a solid 2.5-3 stars. -

They can never make or have the most simple salsa out and constantly claim they're out or don't simply have it.
Don't advertise it, if you don't have it. You guys are by far the worst location. -

Here's a fun thing: if you're day feels mundane and you're bored out of your mind, come here. Eat the food, then go back to work/home. The rest of the day you can play "Is it a fart, or am I gonna shit my pants?!" It's a fun game, brought to you buy slightly warm refried beans, and barely reheated meat.
How is this place so incredibly popular that they have locations throughout the area? Are there really that many people who love bland food, canned products, and not-hot (temperature) food? I thought Portland was known to be a foodie town? So how has this place thrived?
I made 3 bad choices today, let me tell you about them:
1.) I ordered the shredded beef crispy taco. Now, imagine taking a pot roast, throwing in the crockpot and cooking it. That's all you did to it. You didn't add any seasoning, beef stock, vegetables, or anything. You just simply put the beef in, and cooked it. Voila! You've got their shredded beef. The plain, greasy taco shell had more flavor.
2.) I ordered the chicken enchiladas. Lo and behold, the chicken had some flavor. But the enchiladas sauce was straight from a can. They didn't even try to hide it by adding anything to it. Just microwaved, canned enchilada sauce.
3.) I ate the beans that came with it. Yuck! It wasn't even warm, and again canned. How has the State of Oregon not closed down these locations yet?!?
The entire meal was barely warm... the shredded cheese wouldn't melt. Cheese, finely shredded out of a bag, wouldn't melt. So either I'm right, and the food isn't up to temp, or the cheese they use is some sort of hybrid, strong against heat, kind of strain of cheese.
Now, I'm going to nitpick... if you're going to offer cilantro at a salsa bar, at least de-stem it, and chop it up. C'mon man!!!
Again, it is a fun game to see if you can get home in rush hour traffic before you explode all over your leather seats, but it's not a game you want to play again. Trust You have been warned! -

I used to love this place for burritos (especially the vegetarian ones), but a while back (like 6 months, maybe 8 or something?) they changed the way they cook their burritos. Now they're covered in grease, chewy (they stretch a bunch before you can rip off a bite), have a sort of gritty texture, and kinda translucent(????).
I thought maybe they were giving me their wheat tortillas or something at first, but I double-checked and that's not it. They just do something terrible to totally normal tortillas. :(
I miss the food here so much, but the last few times I tried to order a burrito I threw it away because it was just so gross. Wasted money and a favorite restaurant, lost. -

This place screwed up nachos. I thought that was an impossible task, but I was wrong. Shredded un melted cheese tossed together with cold chips...I ask them to correct it, and they microwaved it turning sour cream and guacamole into a hot and runny mess.
